Longwave - Sirens in the Deep Sea
I’ve been a fan of Longwave since the beginning, and I think Secrets Are Sinister may be their most complete release to date. It’s a little more pop; Steve Schiltz is a little more Julian Casablancas than Ian Curtis for the first time, and it sounds to me like the band made some solid steps forward in instrumentalism. No Wake Me When It’s Overs or Tidalwaves, but there is a nice Everywhere You Turn facsimile in No Direction. That’s enough for me.
